Maybe some of you can still remember that in previous years, at the beginning of the same emoji, we sat together to have breakfast together - always on our necks!
No, nonsense, that day we always squandered what was left in the collection box from the last events, thanks of course to the participants' willingness to donate. There was the 'Australia Day 2018 - Aussie Breakfast' event, the '5-34-331' event or the one I can't find anymore. And then Corona came and put a stop to our plans for the next few years. In 2022 we were finally able to set up the collection box again and were able to offer a breakfast event again on the first day of the year. The last objector (ahhh breakfast) event was also well attended, so...
....... to the point, as in previous years, this year there will be a joint breakfast at a well-known location. We would be happy if there would be active participation. As self-confessed carnival objectors, we have considered offering all like-minded people an alternative. ☝️☝️☝️

Carnival, Fastnacht, Fassenacht, Fasnacht, Fasnet, Fasching, Fastabend, Fastelovend, Fasteleer or the fifth season is the name given to the customs used to celebrate the time before the forty-day period of Lent.
Lent begins on Ash Wednesday and serves as preparation for Easter. Carnival is celebrated in many different ways: Carnival parades, music, masks and dressing up all play a role.
Carnival in Latin America, such as the Oruro Carnival or the Rio Carnival, has developed a vitality all of its own. Other well-known carnivals include the Venice Carnival, the Quebec Carnival in Canada, the Mid-Lent Carnival on Laetare Sunday in Stavelot and other towns in the Belgian East Cantons, as well as the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival and the Cádiz Carnival in Spain.
There is also a distinct carnival tradition in the southern states of the United States. In New Orleans, for example, the French term Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday, Shrove Tuesday) is used. Carnival in Namibia takes place in various places in the country and no longer has a temporal connection to Lent.
In the German-speaking world, the "strongholds" are the Rhineland and the Swabian-Alemannic carnival. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
The end of carnival is Ash Wednesday. Its date depends directly on the position of Easter: In 325, at the Council of Nicaea, the date of Easter was set for the first Sunday after the spring full moon. Around 600, Pope Gregory the Great established a 40-day period of fasting before Easter to commemorate the time Jesus Christ spent in the desert (Mt 4:1-2 EU). According to this regulation, Lent began on the Tuesday after the 6th Sunday before Easter (Invocavit or Dominica prima Quadragesimae, 1st Sunday of Lent, also known in German as Funkensonntag).
At the Synod of Benevento in 1091, the six Sundays before Easter were exempted from fasting. In order to still have a 40-day fasting period, the start of Lent was moved forward by six days to today's Ash Wednesday, the Wednesday after the 7th Sunday before Easter. The length of the carnival season is therefore dependent on the movable date of Easter and is calculated according to the Easter formula. According to this formula, Ash Wednesday is on the 46th day before Easter Sunday. The earliest possible Ash Wednesday date is February 4, the latest possible is March 10. This means that there are very short and very long sessions.
OK, none of this has anything to say, it's all just an accessory, listing filler material
So it is now clear that we are offering this event. These are the key data:
Sunday, March 2, 2025
Start at 10:00 am
Duration about 2 hours
We think you can manage with the park coordinates and the access coordinates as a cacher. We are limiting the number of participants to 30 for the time being, as always:
"First come, first served!", so sign up, those who come too late can go on the waiting list.
There is still some money left from the collection box of the last events, so we would like to contribute something to this "5. Frühstücksevent":
If anyone else has clever ideas to bring along, they are welcome to do so, please let us know when you register so that we can coordinate.
We hope that our idea will be well received and that we can welcome one or two cachers here.
